Courses
Two graduate courses on how authority over cultural material is constituted, how it moves, and where it finally rests. Both run fully online and asynchronous, across eight modules.
The Instructor
Two decades of practice in adaptive reuse and community arts leadership inform the questions these courses ask. Donata Anna Garsia is an independent researcher in cultural heritage governance. Her research develops the Cultural Development Zones framework, an architectural form for mission integrity in community-based cultural-religious organizations, across sixteen open-access working papers on SSRN, and one open-access monograph, Cultural Development Zones, Volume I (Zenodo, CC BY 4.0).
She holds four UN-system certifications: UNESCO, UNHCR, UNICEF, and GPE-IIEP. They inform the international-instrument layer that both courses read from, including the Faro Convention, the World Heritage Convention, and the Culture 2030 indicators.
